JOHN TYLER CLASS OF 1988 -President
As President of the John Tyler High School Class of 1988, Angela Chapman continues to serve as a driving force for her classmates and her hometown community. She spearheaded the creation and branding of the Class of ’88 Alumni Annual Scholarship, “Elevate Your Future” Scholarship, turning a vision of awarding a single scholarship into a thriving program that now funds seven awards. Through her strategic fundraising leadership and the generosity of classmates, the original goal was exceeded by more than 500%.
Angela’s passion for uplifting the next generation of John Tyler graduates has fueled innovative outreach, strengthened alumni connections, and cultivated meaningful hometown partnerships. She has played a central role in community initiatives, including co-leading the Class of ’88 annual Juneteenth Community Parade participation. She consistently works hand-in-hand with fellow classmates and leaders to expand the class’s impact every year.
Through coordinated giving campaigns such as with East Texas Food Bank, engaging events, and consistent communication, Angela has inspired her classmates to unite in support of local students, ensuring the Class of ’88 continues to leave a powerful legacy of education, service, and pride. She leads by example and lives by the belief that “We are all better ~ together!”
